Tokyo Tech has announced its MEXT Scholarships 2023 for international students. The Japanese Government Scholarships 2023 have been announced for different universities, and the Tokyo Institute of Technology is pleased to accept the new applications for admission with fully funded MEXT Scholarships 2023 for International Students to Study Abroad in Japan. Students from all over the world are encouraged to apply for admission and Master scholarships in Japan and PhD scholarships in Japan to study in Japan. This is a fully funded scholarship designed for international students to pursue their higher studies in Japanese universities through the Japanese Government’s MEXT Scholarships.

Tokyo Tech has International Graduate Programs (IGPA, IGPB, IGPC) for the Overseas Applicants to pursue their Master, PhD and Integrated Doctoral Education Program (Master + PhD) with Fully Funded MEXT Scholarships for International Students. Students can apply in any program or field of study in the following major areas; School of Sciences, School of Engineering, School of Environment and Society, School of Materials and Chemical Technology, and School of Life Science and Technology offered by the Tokyo Institute of Technology. There are multiple research areas and labs for international students to find out their research interests and approach to the related and relevant labs for their higher studies in Master’s Degree, PhD Degrees or Integrated Education Program under the MEXT University Recommend Scholarship 2023.

Eligibility Criteria

Interested applicants for the admission and fully funded scholarships in Japan at the Tokyo Institute of Technology for MEXT Scholarships 2023 must fulfill the following eligibility criteria;

  • Applicants must have the nationality of a country that has diplomatic relations with Japan (International Applicants).
  • have successfully completed 16 years of education outside Japan or expected to graduate before enrollment.
  • For Integrated Doctoral or Master program: Persons who have successfully completed 16 years of education outside Japan or who are expected to do so by the day before the enrollment date.
  • And for PhD: Persons who have successfully obtained a degree equivalent to a master’s degree or a professional master’s degree at a university or college outside Japan or who are expected to do so by the day before the enrollment date.
  • For MEXT: Students should have at least 2.3 out of 3 scales
  • Persons who are at least 22 years old by the day before the admission date.
  • Language Requirement: As lectures and seminars are conducted in English, there is no Japanese language requirement for this program. Students, however, have the ability to attend Japanese language classes on a regular basis to better adjust to everyday life in Japan

Applicants must be proficient in the English or Japanese language and meet one of the following conditions:

  • TOEFL iBT (including TOEFL iBT Special Home Edition), TOEFL ITP Plus for China Solution (taken in Mainland of China), TOEFL paper-delivered Test, TOEIC L&R
  • IELTS Academic Module
  • Have been awarded or expect to be awarded by the time of Tokyo Tech enrollment an undergraduate or graduate degree from an institution where all instruction was in English or Japanese (Those will be able to apply for IELTS Exemption)
  • Possess a level of proficiency in either English or Japanese equivalent to that stated in (1) and be able to provide supporting evidence

International Graduate Programs

In October 2007, Tokyo Tech launched its International Graduate Program as an opportunity for eligible international students who may have little or no knowledge of the Japanese language to enroll in Master’s or Doctoral Programs at Tokyo Tech and obtain an advanced degree in Japan.

With a diverse group of academic departments participating in this program, students should be able to find a department that best suits their interests and experience in order to further their studies, gain wider knowledge and understanding, and perform advanced long-term research in a field.

The International Graduate Program offers a set of seven English-speaking curricula relevant to Tokyo Tech’s 15 departments and allows students to receive a Master’s or Doctoral degree. There are two types of programs: an Integrated Graduate Education Program, a Master’s Program, and a PhD. Some curricula are set up as an Integrated Doctoral Education Program, designed to merge the Master’s and Doctoral Program to allow graduates to receive both degrees in three to five years ‘ time.

Step 1:

Finding an Academic Supervisor: applicants must arrange for a Tokyo Tech faculty member to serve as an academic supervisor. Without the consent letter, your application will be incomplete. For more details about faculty members and email contacts please visit the following link of Star Search.

Step 2:

After getting the Acceptance letter or Consent letter/email from the related field Professor. Send a copy of the consent email/letter to the Admissions Division. You will then receive a URL and PW required to access the online application system.

Step 3:

Prepare the required documents as given below.

  • 2.Consent email/letter from Tokyo Tech Faculty Member
  • 3.Field of Study and Study Program (in designated format)
  • 4.Summary of thesis
  • 5.English Proficiency Score Report
  • 6.A copy of your passport or residence card

Access the online application system with the URL and PW informed by the Admissions Division. Fill out the online form and complete the submission of application documents

Step 6:

Supporting documents must be directly submitted from your referee and your previous or current university. After step 5 above, you will receive an email with a URL and PW for the online submission system. Forward it to your referee and officials of your previous/current university to allow their access to the system.

I sent five email for consent letter to five professors and asst. professors among the list gave you as a link but no one replying me. Is there any way or method to communicate with them?
