Eligibility Criteria

To apply for the Stipendium Hungaricum 2026–27, you must meet the following conditions:

• Be a citizen of an eligible Sending Partner Country (100+ countries across Africa, Asia, the Americas, and Europe).
• Not hold Hungarian citizenship (including dual citizenship).
• Have the required educational qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s programs: secondary school certificate.
  • Master’s programs: bachelor’s degree.
  • PhD programs: master’s degree.
• Meet the language requirements (English or Hungarian proficiency, depending on program).
• Be nominated by the Sending Partner authority in your country.

Note: Applicants with Hungarian residence permits or refugee status are not eligible.

• Doctoral Program: HUF 140,000–180,000/month (~€355–€460)
