Eligibility Criteria

Interested applicants to study in Switzerland with a fully funded scholarship at the Biozentrum University of Basel, must fulfill the following eligibility criteria;

  • International students can apply for the PhD Fellowships
  • You must hold or expect soon a university degree that qualifies you for a PhD program at the University of Basel (MSc and equivalent).
  • In exceptional cases, outstanding students with a 4 year bachelor’s degree, typically from outside the Bologna system, are also eligible to apply.
  • Language Requirement: Applicants from outside the home country will often need to meet specific English language/other language requirements in order to be able to study there.

The “Fellowships for Excellence” cover the salary of the fellows for three years (including rotations).
