Eligibility Criteria

Interested applicants to study abroad with a fully-funded scholarship in New Zeeland at the University of Otago must fulfill the following eligibility criteria before application;

English language Requirement

Otago University accepts several International tests and results, and students from some countries may be able to use their previous studies to demonstrate their language level. Check the language results we accept and if applicants meet the minimum requirements in the table below.

Applicants can submit their application without an English result and provide this at a later date. The English language test must have been taken within two years of the proposed study start date.

How to Apply

Interested and eligible candidates are encouraged to apply for the University of Otago Doctoral Scholarship 2021 by following the given procedure.

Applications for doctoral scholarships are made online through the eVision portal and can be made any time of the year. Once students have applied for admission, applicants will receive an alert in their student portal inviting them to apply for a scholarship.

Benefits

University of Otago Doctoral Scholarship in New Zeeland will provide NZ$27,000 stipend per annum plus a domestic tuition fees waiver for 36 months (excludes student services fee and insurance).   Professional Doctorates (DClinDent, DMA, DBA, EDd) – NZ$27,000 stipend per annum plus a tuition fee waiver for up to 36 months capped at the domestic rate (excludes student services fee and insurance).
