What is a “MEXT Research Student”?

A Research Student under MEXT is:

Note: Fields like clinical medical practice and arts involving practical training are generally excluded.

Who Can Apply for Scholarship in Japan?

    • PhD: Must hold a Master’s degree (18 years of education) or equivalent
  • Health: Must be physically and mentally fit
  • Language: Must be willing to learn Japanese and adapt to life in Japan
  • Visa: Must obtain a “Student” visa for entry
