Eligibility Criteria for FRIAS Fellowship

To apply for the FRIAS Sustainable Governance Fellowship 2026/27, applicants must:

Hold a PhD with at least 8 years of postdoctoral experience
Be based at an academic institution in Africa
Have at least 5 peer-reviewed publications since Jan 1, 2016, including 1+ co-authored
Have at least 6 months of international academic experience
Hold a Master’s or PhD from an African university
Provide a Letter of Cooperation from a University of Freiburg professor
