DOCTORAL CANDIDATES (PHD STUDENTS) IN LAW (M/F)

The Doctoral Training Unit on Enforcement in Multi-level Regulatory Systems II (REMS-II) is opening various funded PhD positions in law, in the following topics:

  • Judicial and non-judicial control over punitive sanctions (supervisor: Prof. Silvia Allegrezza, EU Criminal Law)
  • Centralised and/or Decentralised Approach to EU securities law enforcement (supervisor: Prof. Pierre-Henri Conac, Financial Markets Law)
  • Public and private enforcement of international sanctions at the national level (supervisor: Prof. Matthew Happold, Public International Law)
  • Evidence sharing in multi-level enforcement systems (supervisor: Prof. Katalin Ligeti, EU Criminal Law)
  • Alternative dispute resolution mechanisms and effective protection of rights – consumer protection in financial services (supervisors: Prof. Elise Poillot, EU Consumer Law; and Prof. Isabelle Riassetto, Commercial Law, Company Law, Financial Regulation)
  • Enforceability of EU law and availability of legal remedies: the challenges of multi-level settings to the protection and/or promotion of constitutional principles (migration, external action of the EU and restrictive measures, external action of the EU and sustainable development) (supervisor: Prof. Eleftheria Neframi, EU Law)

Your Role

  • The doctoral candidate will conduct research under the guidance of a professor with the aim of studying towards a PhD in Law.
  • The doctoral candidate will publish research results and present them at conferences, workshops, etc.
  • S/he shall contribute to the teaching of classes ranging from one to three hours per week, of small group teachings and tutorials.

Your Profile

  • Master’s degree in Law; a multidisciplinary background in Economics is an advantage.
  • Have the linguistic skills to evolve in a multilingual environment: fluency in either English or French, good understanding of the second language and possibly a third language.
  • Strong interest in interdisciplinary research.
  • Excellent communication and team working skills are required.
