Alexander von Humboldt Foundation is pleased to offering Up to 500 Humboldt Research Fellowships for all international experienced researchers to carry out a long term research (6-18 months) at a research institution in Germany.

The fellowship is flexible & can be divided up into as many as 3 stays within 3 years. The main purpose of this fellowship is to enable highly qualified academics from all over the world to come to Germany to conduct their research and stay there.

Brief Description

University or Organization: Alexander von Humboldt Foundation as this foundation promotes international academic cooperation b/w excellent scientists & scholars from Germany & from abroad.

Eligible Countries: All International candidates

Eligible Course: Available in the field of science & research.

Eligibility Criteria: All international Scientists & scholars from any disciplines are welcome to apply for this scholarship.

Application Deadline: No closing date for submitting applications; applications must submit at least 4 to 7 months ahead of the prospective selection meeting.

Qualification Required

Highly qualified international scientist & scholars of any disciplines who have completed the PhD less than 12 years ago are eligible to apply.

  • CV (2 pages max)
  • Research outline (5 pages max)
  • Complete list of publications
  • List of selected key publications
  • Key publications
  • Doctoral certificate
  • German language proficiency certificate
  • (if applicable)Host’s statement & confirmation of research facilities
  • Two expert reviews

Additionally, if required: publishers’ letter(s) of acceptance and/or acknowledgment(s) of receipt as well as summaries or translations of the key publications.

English language requirements for candidates who do not speak English as their first language.

Scholarship Benefits

  • Amount worth 2,650 EUR per month(for postdoctoral researchers)
  • 3,150 EUR per month(for experienced researchers).
